A Beach Wedding in Cape Town
With all the natural beauty that Cape Town has to offer many couples choose the beach as their wedding venue and why not? Nature has done all the hard work for you already and all you have to do is add the finishing touches. You could have a beach themed cake, a guest book embellished with pretty seashells and of course wedding favours with a beach theme. Okay – so what to give? Here are a couple of ideas for beach wedding favours that your guests will really enjoy or even love to take home.
Themed photo frames or memo clips can serve as place cards and table decorations at your reception but they can also be items that your guests can take home. This way your beach wedding favours will give out a little something extra to both you and your guests
Pretty Presentation
Beach wedding favours could also be incorporated into your table centre pieces. You could place the favours into a container after wrapping each favour individually using beach themed wrapping or you could use natural paper with raffia ties and seashell charms. Putting the little treats in tulle or cellophane and then either placing them in tiny beach buckets or even a shared larger beach bucket will give you a more casual look.
You could also fill a wide, shallow glass dish with clean beach sand and a few real shells, which you should be able to find at your local craft store. Place the dish in the centre of each table and then arrange each of the beach wedding favours in the sand. Make sure that you make it clear to your guests that they are expected to take the gifts home by attaching name tags to the gifts or simply by spreading the word around.
Up the Elegance
While the ceremony may be very simple there are many beach weddings that are as lavish as any big city ballroom wedding. In this case you would be better off choose beach themed wedding favours with a more sophisticated touch like crystal, glass bottles or even silver.
Creative Ideas for Beach Wedding Favours - Keep on Giving
Often couples choose to have a beach wedding simply because of the beautiful setting while others have a deep connection or commitment to the ocean. In either event but perhaps more specifically the latter you and your fiancée have a great opportunity to present your guests with beach wedding favours that give back a little something to the place you love.
For instance you could decide on a donation to the NSRI as your beach wedding favours but of you go down this route don’t forget about the presentation. Perhaps you could have cards printed on beautiful paper announcing your gift, or you could buy inexpensive little treats and attach a tag explaining the donation. The charity you choose might even have pre-printed tags, cards or stickers for you to use.
So it is clear that irrespective of whether you have a simple barefoot affair on the beach or a more sophisticated soiree at the seaside in Cape Town there are plenty of options available for you in terms of your decorations, wedding favours and gifts for your guests. The most important thing is to ensure that your beach themed wedding favours say a little something about you and the unique nature of your celebration. If they are carefully and beautifully presented your guests will know that the gift is a heartfelt “thank you” - and will leave them an indelible impression of your beach wedding.Date Posted: 2007-08-05
