SECURITY: New Distribution Agreement

Recent Western Cape Business News

A distribution agreement was signed between Paarl-based Betafence SA and products distributor, Impi Wire, in George.

The formal launch of the agreement in terms of which Impi Wire would sell and distribute Betafence SA’s products in the Southern Cape, was launched last month.

Betafence SA general manager, Michael James, says the agreement is expected to add value to both companies through streamlining the supply chain.

The distribution agreement gives exclusivity to Impi Wire to actively sell and distribute the Betafence SA perimeter fencing products throughout the Garden Route area.”

It will ensure that the range of locally high quality PVC coated products - a first in the world for SA – is delivered to the local market at competitive rates.”

Impi Wire was chosen as sole distributor of Betafence’s products in the Southern Cape based on its solid track record since 1993, as a special supply-only division of the fence-erecting company, MP Fencing.

James says Betafence SA approached Impi Wire due to the successes the company has already for a number of years with supplying its products to the market.

Furthermore, important factors such as location, expertise and infrastructure also played a crucial role in deciding where to set up a distribution point.

Impi Wire has established itself firmly as the largest supplier in the area.

MP Fencing, Impi Wire’s parent company, is an established company that has been specialising in the installation of security, industrial and domestic fencing since 1983 and has been committed to quality and value in the Garden Route for 27 years. Betafence SA is Impi Wire’s latest addition in the provision of leading supplier brands such as the Allens Group, Consolidated Wire Industries, Rhino Plastics, Woodline and Gallagher Electric Fencing. We are proud to be represented by such a prestigious company,” says James.

Betafence SA has been supplying PVC and polyester coated fencing systems to the local market for a number of years.

The company’s products are synonymous with quality and durability due to the advanced coating technology formulated by the parent company, Betafence NV, in Belgium. That company was formed in 1880 and is a global leader in the manufacture and supply of fencing and associated products.

Paul Davison of Impi Wire says the company has a 37 staff complement and a large fleet and caters for all clients’ needs from home owner to large contractors.

The support, expertise and experience of Betafence SA in supplying large contracts and developing bespoke solutions and CAD designs will assist in furthering an already strong and recognised brand in the Garden Route.”

A wide range of products in the Betafence group – including its much sought-after PVC coated products and technology - will be available and distributed directly by Impi Wire as well as through several Agri outlets along the Garden Route.

These include outlets in George, Mosselbay, Plettenberg Bay, Oudts-hoorn and Knysna.
