STRIVE Engineering Supplies, formed in 2002 in Cape Town, has become an important supplier to the marine, mining, and engineering industry.
Today the company offers over 20 000 lines of consumables and equipment, supported by specially selected local and international suppliers. The products offered by Strive have also expanded to cater for the wider needs of the transport and various other industries.
In simplified categories Strive’s product range includes abrasives, cleaning equipment and chemicals, electric/electronic components, power tools and generators, safety products, fasteners, paint, oils and greases, promotional clothing and workshop/engineering supplies and so on.
Key recognised Strive brands include Pferd, Genkem, Loctite, Genkem, Plascon, Mobi, FEW and Fluke. Some others are Weller, Somta, Gedore, King Tony, Harris, Fronius, Bosch, Makita and Macnaught.
The company’s aim is to meet customer’s widest possible parts and equipment needs. “We can provide a much greater service to our clients both on the road and in the workshop, compared to our competitors,” says Strive’s Erich Kohlhöfer.
“Our staff’s ability to rapidly identify damaged parts and provide the correct replacement is what our business is all about.”
“Eliminating costly downtime is perhaps the most critical role we play for our clients. Through our relationships with customers at a local level we are able to cater to the specific requirements of their engineering workshop in a timely manner,” he says.
