MULTI-year investment to support programming for transitioning service members
CHICAGO, Oct. 10, 2017 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] today announced a $5 million, multi-year donation to help expand United Service Organizations (USO) Pathfinder transition services—a comprehensive global program for transitioning service members.

Boeing's contribution will support more than 210,000 transitioning service members during the three-year investment period. The funds will target the launch of eight new support centers across the country—with a planned nationwide expansion to 25 centres by 2020, enabling the USO to reach 80 percent of all active-duty transitions each year.

"We are proud to support our nation's military beyond the battlefield," said Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg. "That includes a commitment to hiring veterans and investing in their families and communities. Through our support of the USO Pathfinder program, we aim to help transform the transition experience for service members and ensure our heroes succeed in their next mission after military service."

Formerly RallyPoint/6, the USO Pathfinder program provides transition services to those exiting the military, their spouses and families 12-18 months before their transition and up to 12 months beyond the service member's date of separation. USO employees, designated "Scouts," work one-on-one with transitioning service members and military family members at transition centres located at military installations across the United States. The Scouts help transitioning service members identify personal and professional goals while connecting them to the resources necessary for a successful transition into the civilian workforce.

"Support from the USO doesn't stop when service members leave the military," said Dr. J.D. Crouch II, president and CEO of The United Service Organizations Inc. "We are proud to once again partner with Boeing to provide best-in-class transition services to service members and their families. This generous contribution from Boeing will help the USO offer the highest quality of transition services to meet the broadest spectrum of needs."
