PROPERTY: 2030 will Bring a Tipping Point in Consumer Habits
Recent Western Cape Business News
This is according to Peter Gold, Head of Cross Border EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Retail at CBRE who will address delegates at the South African Council of Shopping Centre’s (SACSC) 18th Annual Congress. The three-day event takes place in Cape Town next week and is set to provide invaluable insight into the latest consumer behaviour, trends and developments.
Gold says: “While online and mobile retail channels will become ever more prevalent, brick-and-mortar stores will still play a major role in delivering retail to consumers and will continue to do so well into 2050.”
With over 25 years of experience within the property profession, Gold has substantial knowledge of the business of retail property as well as the business of retail itself. He joins a not-to-be-missed line-up of local and international speakers, covering a variety of topics relevant to today’s retail landscape at the sector’s flagship event.
Malcolm Horne, CEO of Broll Property Group says he is thrilled that global property leader and Broll affiliate, CBRE will have a presence at this year’s premier industry event. “The 2014 SACSC Congress is an ideal platform to engage and share both local and international innovations and insights. Broll and CBRE are well-placed to bring new ways of thinking into the spotlight,” says Horne.
Consumer behaviour is one of many intriguing subjects, which all unite under the congresses theme ‘inspire’, on the programme. Covering nearly every niche of retailing and shopping centres, delegates will be exposed to the latest retail trends, architectural design, international retail, business leadership and success stories from South Africa and around the world.
