CONCEPTAINER, a specialist in the custom-design and manufacture of packaging for specific requirements, has launched a new recyclable, collapsible bin that is proving highly successful in diverse sectors.

“The new Thrift bulk collapsible bin, which only weighs 28 kgs when empty, is an efficient system for the storage and transportation of a wide range of products, including automotive components,” says Jonathan Johnstone, managing director of Conceptainer. “An important feature of this returnable packaging is each box is manufactured to exact specifications. The Thrift design concept enables empty bins to be stacked 12 high, which substantially reduces the costs of supply of products and recovery of containers.”

“Another important feature of this cost efficient storage and transport system for automotive components is these bins are easily repairable. Conceptainer offers a repair and maintenance service for damaged bins which extends the service life of each Thrift bin, enhancing the efficiency of this system.”

Thrift bins are designed to be moved easily around a plant during assembly and are transported efficiently from the plant, to the customer and then returned back to the plant for re-use.

The footprint size of these bins ranges from 1 200 mm x 1 000 mm to 1 700 mm x 1 000 mm, with wall heights of 700 mm. For user branding, these bins can be printed in colour to include the company name, logo, product description and any personalised message.

Special materials are used in the manufacture of these bins which include polypropylene, high density polyethylene and aluminium.

Depending on the application, a plastic liner can also be used for enhanced protection.

These bins have been designed for many storage and transportation applications, including automotive components, bulk storage, FMCG distribution, the OEM supply chain, as well as the fishing industry.
