MARKETING: Trade To Flourish At Cape Town Book Fair
Recent Western Cape Business News
After a two-year hiatus, the much anticipated Cape Town Book Fair is set to return to the Mother City on Friday, 15th June, for a three-day festival of literature.
As the Fair coincides with the 29th International Publisher’s Association (IPA) Congress this year, an even larger contingent of publishers, authors, exhibitors, speakers, book associations, book distributors, book stores, electronic book traders, libraries, literary agents, printers, repro agents and bibliophiles will be gathering at the Cape Town International Convention Centre for this event.
According to Brian Wafawarowa, Executive Director of the Publishers’ Association of South Africa (PASA), “The value of the 29th IPA Congress being held in Cape Town at this time is enormous – not least because it is the first time that the Congress is being held in Africa for the first time in over 100 years.”
All visitors to the Fair can expect to hear unique and interesting insights into the publishing world, as many high profile Congress delegates and speakers will also participate in the Book Fair. Having attracted hundreds of local and global exhibitors, the Cape Town Book Fair has become Sub-Saharan Africa’s biggest Book Fair, and publishers and authors will descend on Cape Town from destinations around Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
