DEVELOPMENT: Accelerate Gets Engen On Board
Recent Western Cape Business News
Engen Petroleum has announced that it has joined Accelerate Cape Town as its latest corporate sponsor. A membership-based organisation, Accelerate Cape Town evolved from a series of meetings between leaders of big business who believed that the region’s economy would benefit considerably from the implementation of a long-term growth strategy, and particularly from their participation in it. Since its inception in March 2007, membership has grown to include more than 30 of the region’s biggest business establishments.
Accelerate Cape Town’s primary focus is to step up economic growth in the city and its environs, as well as to promote Cape Town as a business destination. It does this through:
· mobilising the combined expertise of members
· establishing networks between business, government, education and other sectors
· enabling constructive partnerships, and
· implementing special purpose projects.
“We are delighted to have Engen Petroleum Ltd as a member of Accelerate Cape Town," said Guy Lundy, Accelerate Cape Town’s CEO. “Engen Petroleum Ltd is South Africa’s largest Petroleum products retailer. Their joining Accelerate Cape Town demonstrates their commitment to future growth in the Cape. We know that their strategic vision and strong customer focus will help contribute to this growth, and cement their position as one of the Cape’s premier businesses.”
"We are looking forward to our involvement with Accelerate Cape Town,” said Natie Maphanga, corporate affairs manager for Engen. “We are proud to be associated with this initiative, which represents some of the leading corporates in the Western Cape, and which promotes the adoption of a long term growth strategy for the Cape region.”
