ELECTRICAL: Greenbro In A Revival Mode
Recent Western Cape Business News
THE advent of new shareholders and the accompanying investment in new management, technology, skills and processes has enabled Parow-based Greenbro to reposition itself as a leading manufacturer of top quality products for the electrical distribution industry.
Late last year a consortium of investors acquired the electrical kiosk and enclosures business from Racec and since acquisition, has managed to access new markets, improve efficiencies, enhance quality and introduce new product into the market. In addition, Greenbro has also acquired an ISO 9001:2008 accreditation as well as a level 2 BEE contributor status, according to its sales director, Billy Murray.
“Greenbro is striving to be the leading manufacturer of electrical distribution kiosks across Africa and is seeking to provide the market with consistent quality products led through innovation,” Murray says.
The hub of Greenbro is its rotomoulding facility which manufactures polyethylene electrical distribution kiosks. Besides being safer, stronger, more durable and versatile, polyethylene is environmentally friendly, a significant feature when compared to competitive glass fibre and steel products.
“No longer constrained by the complexities or resource requirements of the generator manufacturing concern, which has been discontinued, the business is looking forward to many opportunities available and is confident that with its recent capital investment, envisaged new plant, moulds and technology, it will not only meet but surpass its current customer’s expectations and generate new business and products,” according to Murray.
