THE printed circuit board specialist Beta Layout SA in Cape Town, has installed a new high speed drilling system.
The MX1 single station system from the German manufacturer Schmoll Maschinen is a high tech CNC drilling machine which includes CCD technology for inner-layer registration.
It can also route both standard and IMS (Insulated Metal Sub-strates) circuits.
Intricate commands such as engraving, countersink, tap drilling and control depth milling are also possible.
“The installation of this advanced drilling and routing machine reinforces our commitment to the market. This further enhances our PCB-POOL prototype service due to its versatility, speed and accuracy, offering our customer’s printed circuit boards of very highest quality,” says Ian Fennell, plant manager at Beta Layout.
Another development from Beta Layout SA is the announcement that it has added Electrolyses Nickel Immersion Gold to their list of surface finishes.
