Recent Western Cape Business News
Premium alcohol beverage company, brandhouse, will be showcasing some of their top whisky brands available in South Africa at this year’s FNB Whisky Live Festival taking place in Cape Town (2-4 November) and Johannesburg (9-11 November).
Leading whisky brands such as Johnnie Walker, Bells, Singleton and J&B will be present at this year’s festival for consumers to taste and enjoy. “We are very excited to be part of the largest consumer whisky show in the world. It is the best place to be and celebrate our top performing whisky portfolio within the South African market”, says Gavin Krenski, Marketing Director at brandhouse.
This year is a big celebration for the Johnnie Walker brand as they recently launched the rebranding and packaging campaign of their Blue Label variant.
Known as the pinnacle of blended Scotch Whisky from the House of Johnnie Walker, the new Blue Label bottle is three times heavier than the last and incorporates the original 19th century design, with its square shape, blue-tinted glass and thick glass base. The Blue Label packaging has not otherwise been altered in over a decade and the new packaging is exquisite.
The House of Johnnie Walker is showing strong results in the South African market. “It has taken 2.7% volume points over the past year (MAT) and delivered +49.5 % volume growth (MAT) and + 99.7% volume growth over the short term (L3M)*, according to Nielsen. One of the stellar performances has been from Johnnie Walker Blue Label, delivering exceptional volume growth of +28% on a MAT basis and +96% volume growth over the short term L3M vs the previous year*”, said Shannon Yuill, Group Portfolio Manager of Spirits at brandhouse, who is thrilled about these results.
