EXPORTS: Wesgro Launches Advantage Programme
Recent Western Cape Business News
Wesgro last week unveiled it’s newly formulated Export Advantage Programme aimed at existing exporters wanting to grow their current export business or wanting to enter new markets.
On the back of a global economic slowdown that has left few viable, albeit niche, business opportunities for the Western Cape exporter, Wesgro says it has developed a programme based on international best-practise to enable a business to reach its full potential.
The Export Advantage programme offers selected clients custom-built and flexible support with a dedicated international trade manager from Wesgro working with a company taking it through an agreed action-plan, in a process that lasts 12 to 18 months. This subsidised service delivers a combination of expert information and advice, structured to the needs of your company.
International research has shown that companies who export are more profitable than their non-exporting counterparts. Hence, exporting can be a profitable way of expanding your business, if the correct procedures are followed, thereby spreading risk and reducing your dependence on the South African market.
Some key elements of the programme will include exposure to improved management practices, innovative marketing techniques, and mechanisms to boost your international competitiveness.
The international trade team is led by Peter Hurst, formerly of UK Trade and Invest, and is supported by a team of market experts covering Africa, Asia Pacific, the Americas and Europe.
“Western Cape exporters play a fundamental role in driving the growth of the province. It is only logical that they receive the utmost support and input from the Western Cape’s official investment and trade promotion agency. The export advantage programme is structured to do that, ” says Wesgro CEO, Angelo Manzoni.
