MARKETING: Markex Is Coming To Town

Recent Western Cape Business News

SA’s special marketing, promotions and events trade exhibition will return to Cape Town from 23 to 25 August after three years, bringing with it an extensive showcase of innovative marketing and events products and services.

Markex World of Events Cape offers the only opportunity of its kind to source everything you need to stock your marketer’s toolkit for the year ahead. Cape Town International Convention Centre will be jam-packed and buzzing with exhibitors eager to display their products and services, proving once again to be the perfect platform for connecting buyers and sellers of promotional gifts, corporate clothing, branding and eventing products and services,” says Lynn Chamier, exhibition director of Markex Cape.

In addition to over 120 exhibitors, some of the highlights of Markex Cape 2011 include value-added features such as the ‘AdVantage Village’, an interactive area in which Cape Town’s ad agencies, design shops, PR companies and marketing consultants will have an opportunity to gain exposure to the Markex audience. There is also a unique ‘Trade Only’ section, offering a controlled-access area for wholesalers to connect exclusively with resellers. Only bona fide trade buyers will be allowed access into this area, having been pre-qualified by the exhibitors or organisers.

Another feature in this year’s show, the USB Speakers Pavilion, will give visitors the opportunity to be inspired and to source speakers from a line-up of top local and international authorities, who will be presenting in an enclosed theatre with seating on a first-come-first-served basis.

Visitors wishing to gain access to the Trade Only section must pre-register with a pin code, which can be obtained from one of the companies exhibiting in the Trade Only area providing your company registration number and proof of your status as a reseller of promotional goods.

Access for students is limited to the final day of the exhibition, Thursday 25th August, and is by prior arrangement with the organisers. Only students enrolled in marketing-related fields of study will be allowed access on this date, and only to the general area of the show. Students are required to download and complete an application form from the Markex Cape website to gain access on Student Day.
