POSITIVE action in tough times has resulted in another growth phase for the De La Porte Property Group, the 14-year-old Cape brokerage and management group headquartered in Milnerton.
The group’s key property management division, set up one year ago and now with a portfolio well in excess of R700 million, has appointed senior portfolio manager Carol Badenhorst, together with additional admin and operations staff, to expand capacity in De La Porte Property Management.
Badenhorst’s 18-year career in property includes experience in many facets of the industry, notably general and sectional title management and leasing, and project and facility management in the commercial and industrial, retail and residential sectors. She has also successfully converted a number of residential apartment blocks into sectional title schemes.
The De La Porte Property Group was launched originally as a broad-ranging commercial and industrial property brokerage operating both in sales and rentals, with its focus in the Milnerton area, where it occupies its own headquarters. Subsequently the group has broadened its base, and services markets throughout the Cape Peninsula. The management division specialises in commercial and industrial property management, sectional title property or home owner associations and separate title properties.
“In spite of difficult trading conditions that have dogged the industry, we have managed to maintain a steady growth, and the diversification has assisted this trend,’ says the group’s principal, Jonty De La Porte. ‘There’s no doubt now, though, that the market is turning up, as our results are starting to show.’
