EMPOWERMENT : Adopt-A-Panel Shop In Cape Town
Recent Western Cape Business News
Super Speed Panelbeaters & Spraypainting, an established 100% black-owned panel shop, is being re-launched at Airport Industria in Cape Town following an extensive infrastructure upgrade, premises relocation and successful grading accreditation process. The Adopt-a-Panel Shop empowerment campaign was initiated by Alexander Forbes in 2006 to transform and grow the South African automotive repair industry. The initiative helps selected automotive repair businesses “address the challenges that black-owned auto body repairers face in accessing and servicing the mainstream corporate automotive repair business” says Errol Masinga of Alexander Forbes Risk and Insurance Services.
Super Speed Panelbeaters & Spraypainting is now in a position to compete with other well established panel businesses in Cape Town.
“We need more initiatives like Adopt–A-Panel Shop that are willing to go the extra mile to support and empower small businesses for the benefit of the industry and economy. We are now geared to take on bigger clients and compete with established panel businesses” says Rashied Chauke, founder of Super Speed Panelbeaters and Spraypainters.
Since 2006 the Adopt-a-Panel Shop initiative has been involved in the upgrade and accreditation of Zombodze Panelbeaters in Aeroton, Toy Panelbeaters in Ga-Rankuwa, Five Star Auto Speedshop in Boksburg, Umsunduzi Panelshop & Spraypainters in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal and Scratch Mobile at Oliver Tambo International Airport and Prospecton Durban.
