EXHIBITIONS: Propak 2011 Is Wrapping It Up

Recent Western Cape Business News

PROPAK, the regional packaging, food processing, printing, plastics and labelling exhibition will be back in the Western Cape in 2011.  The organisers report that sales already exceed 50% of available floor space with 11-months still to go before the event.  This is a forum where local and international exhibitors and visitors are able to discuss global trends and technologies, source products, and network with colleagues.
The Propak Cape 2011 exhibition will combine all elements of packaging, food processing, printing, labelling and plastics, and creates a powerful platform bringing together buyers and sellers in these market sectors.
Innovative packaging design that keeps products competitively ahead through a visual identity that communicates the right message to its consumer will be at the forefront of the exhibition, as well as cutting edge design and technology with regard to development of new energy efficient and environmentally friendly products and equipment.
Feedback from an independent survey conducted in 2008 showed that Propak Cape was a successful event attracting over 5 000 high-level industry decision makers from throughout South Africa and the SADC region with a high concentration of visitors from the Western Cape, 83% of visitors had buying power and 53% of visitors said they would place orders within a year, based on their exposure to new products and suppliers at the show.  This is over and above those sales actually made from the show floor.
Propak Cape takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town from 25-27 October 2011.
“A successful regional event, the show combines all elements of packaging and related industries and provides a powerful marketing vehicle for the broad industry it represents,” says Michelle Bedser, exhibition manager at Specialised Exhibitions, organisers of the upcoming show.
“It provides a platform from which key players in these sectors showcase their products and services, and visitors know they are meeting with the leading companies servicing their industry.”
The Western Cape is the perfect home for Propak Cape. As a major exporter of wine, fruit and other valuable commodities to international markets, the area is heavily reliant on the packaging and associated industries in realising the country’s export potential.
The show has built a good reputation in the area and provides exhibitors with an opportunity to market their products and services to thousands of influential decision makers, and will create an environment for trading, sourcing of products, education and awareness across the entire spectrum of the combined industries.
Propak Cape has the support of The Institute of Packaging in SA, The Packaging Council of South Africa, The Printing Industries Federation of South Africa, The Flexographic Technical Association of South Africa and the Plastics Federation of South Africa.
