The number of domestic airline passengers arriving at Cape Town airport in September set a new record for the month, but international passenger arrivals are still down on figures for recent years.
The number of international passengers increased to 41 394, roughly the passenger volumes of 2008 but well below an exceptional September in 2008 when the number of international arrivals exceeded 51 000.
The latest figures show that domestic air travel continues to recover after the recessionary dip but international passenger arrivals are improving slowly but are not yet back to pre-recession levels.
