MANUFACTURING: CNC Is A Key To Productivity
Recent Western Cape Business News
CNC Solutions, founded in 2000 as part of the Sabelco Group, has thriven as an operation producing precise steel fabrications.
Managed by Munier Moerat, CNC has at its core Amada computer numeric control machines which include a two 25 ton punching machine, a 80 ton and a 100 ton bender as well as a guillotine. The EM2510NT punching machine has a hit (punch) rate of up to 1800 hits per minute on marking and 780 hits per minute on perforation. It takes a maximum sheet size of 3000 mm (length) x 1500 mm (width). It punches from 0.6 mm mild steel up to 3.0 mm stainless steel grade 316.
The bending machines cater for a maximum bend length of 3400 mm and the maximum gauge of material in connection with tonnage is 3.0mm mild steel and stainless steel
The guillotine can accommodate up to 2500 mm in length but can cut up to 4.5mm mild steel and 3.0mm stainless steel. CAD drawing and design facilities are also provided to customers.
“Precision is key to our operation. Whether it is simple or complex, our commitment to precision is absolute. Our precision steel fabrication factory uses only the latest technology available, operated by experienced staff. This ensures accuracy, large volumes in short turn-around times and consistent quality”, Moerat says. Thanks to the investments made into new machines recently, CNC has huge expansion capacity.
CNC Solutions provides all kind of a panel work required by Sabelco Electrical but thanks to its caliber of work, CNC is increasingly attracting work from other clients who require precision steel fabrications, according to Moerat.
