Recent Western Cape Business News
40 year old Cape Town based firm Cameron & Prentice has entered into a merger with BDO, the world’s 5th largest audit and accounting network. The merger of BDO and Cameron & Prentice will lead to an extended network representing all the key economies in South Africa and will expand the BDO network capacity.
Antonie van der Hoek, managing partner at Cameron & Prentice, says it is now looking forward to expanding its range of services as well as capitalising on the opportunities that being part of the world’s 5th largest accounting network brings.
John Spencer, CEO of BDO South Africa, says “Having a firm with the quality, reputation and energy of Cameron & Prentice join BDO will ensure that we are well-positioned to service our existing clients in the Cape, as well as our ever-increasing client base with operations across the country. The added strength of Cameron & Prentice means greater capacity for us and our clients. Cameron & Prentice will become the official Cape Town operation of BDO.”
“With this merger, we are firmly on the way to ensuring that BDO has the critical mass and is a leader in our chosen market segments in the accounting profession in South Africa. We see a bright future for our partners and our firm in South Africa. We want to stay ahead of the change in the marketplace and the ever-increasing demands such change brings – this merger is another step on this journey”, concludes John.
