MARINE: AMP Gets Propulsion To Expand

AFRICAN Marine Propulsion Services (AMP), which was started in 2009 and is situated in Paarden Eiland, is looking to expand in the near future.
There is over 40 years combined experience in the company on matters maritime. Both directors Marc Els and Mike Fitzroy have worked extensively in this industry and the African market.
The aim of the company is to provide core business support to the marine and ship repair industry.
“Our core business is fixed and variable pitch propellers, stern tube seals and bearings for both water as well as oil lubricated systems. We also carry out metallurgical repairs to propellers and supply new units as well as provide computer aided propulsion studies for optimum propeller sizing on existing and for new build installations.”
“New stern tube seal assemblies, spare parts along with servicing and retro fitting of all seal assemblies are also supplied,” the directors say.
The various manufacturers the company represents make available the best possible solution to suit customer requirements along with benefiting both environmental and their commercial requirements.
“International Service Engineers for all makes of propulsion systems are also available from African Marine Propulsion at very competitive international rates. We provide in-situ bonding of stern tube seals for all brand names. This is complemented with pump mechanical seals and couplings as well as repair and reconditioning of these products,” they say.
They say that, with the assistance of its international product suppliers the company’s aim is to bring new, sustainable and environmentally friendly products which directly benefit customers in a local environment.
By delivering international products and serviced at a local level this will also allow an international support base on a strategic maritime route for all installations types and makes currently at sea.
