Recent Western Cape Business News
The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) has been selected as a finalist in the international AIPC APEX Award competition. This year’s award will be one of the most hotly contested ever, with 27 finalists vying for the recognition of “World’s Best Congress Centre".
According to CTICC, Chief Operating Officer, Joey Pather being selected as a finalist for this prestigious award is a major coup for the CTICC and for Cape Town. AIPC is an international association of convention and exhibition centres, whose mission is to support, encourage and recognise excellence in convention centre operation and management. “Cape Town has once again held its own in an increasingly competitive global meetings market and the fact that we are a finalist is further testament that Cape Town is indeed a world class business destination” said Pather.
The AIPC Apex Award is made bi-annually on the basis of a comprehensive performance and customer satisfaction analysis. The evaluations are based entirely on client ratings of each participating facility. Finalists have been selected on their having met all competition criteria, including identifying a sufficient number of client evaluators to meet the requirements for the competition. “The winner will be selected on the basis of how well identified clients rate each centre in terms of service excellence” said Pather.
CTICC will be competing against the likes of the Adelaide Convention Centre, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre and the Cairns Convention Centre to name a few.
