FOOD & BEVERAGES: Cheers To Windhoek Beer
Recent Western Cape Business News
Windhoek beer franchise volumes have grown 24% year to date, surpassing total volumes for last year after only 10 months. The spectacular growth of the Windhoek franchise has been propelled by the introduction of Windhoek draught in a 440ml bottle, launched by brandhouse in October last year.
Gavin Pike, Marketing Director of Cape Town-based Brandhouse, says, “The figures show that Windhoek draught in a bottle has been extremely well received by our consumers. The success of this line extension illustrates the power of brandhouse’s strategy which is to offer our consumers a choice of brands to suit every occasion.”
“But it’s not only consumers who benefit from greater choice. So does the trade. Growth in volumes means growth for our customers, especially those running township taverns, most of which are small and medium sized businesses which are driving growth in the South African economy.”
Brandhouse Beverages (Pty) Ltd was formed on 1 July 2004 as a joint venture between Diageo, Heineken International and Namibia Breweries Ltd. It is South Africa’s leading premium drinks company with an unrivalled portfolio of brands across the spirits, beer and cider categories. These include Johnnie Walker, J&B, Smirnoff, Bell’s, Baileys, Jose Cuervo, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, Amstel, Heineken, Windhoek, Foundry, and Guinness among others.
