MANUFACTURING: Serco Is Sitting Pretty
Recent Western Cape Business News
Serco Industries in Cape Town recently completed 20 mobile ablution units for the Nice Equipment Company which will be used extensively at grounds hosting 2010 World Cup soccer matches in June and July. This order is in addition to the 100 ablution units Serco has manufactured for Nice Equipment over the past few years.
The trailer chassis for the units are delivered to Serco where they are fitted with the upper structure which includes partitions, windows and hatches. Using fibreglass ensures the ablutions are corrosion resistant and easy to clean. Thereafter, Nice Equipment installs the sanitary ware for a completed product.
Previously the toilets were unisex but the most recent 20 are larger, being fitted with separate compartments for women and men.
Managing Director of The Nice Equipment Company, Allan Searle, said some of the new ablution units had been hired out for use at the Hospitality Centres at the various 2010 stadiums around the country. "We have a large fleet of the toilets so they will also be seen at the Fan Parks in operation during the tournament”.
"They have been built for use by the hospitality industry so when the World Cup is over they will no doubt be used at various outdoor events."
Nowadays event organisers are aware that in order to have a professional event, guests prefer to have an aesthetically pleasing, spacious and hygienic ablution facility which these units provide.
