BUILDING: New R85m Home For Porsche At Century City
Recent Western Cape Business News
A new R85 million state-of-the-art home for Porsche in Cape Town is under construction on a gateway site at Century City. The new showroom and workshop facility will serve the entire Western Cape region.
Porsche Centre relocated its Western Cape operations to Century City three and half years ago and is currently situated in temporary premises in the Century Gate office park.
Toby Venter, CEO of Porsche Centre South Africa, said the decision to move to Century City had been prompted by the fact that it was extremely centrally located, was a rapidly developing commercial and residential precinct and enjoyed high traffic volumes with more than 24 million visitors a year.
“Our customers are also now very used to visiting us at Century City so it makes sense to build our permanent Western Cape base here,” he said.
Venter said the new facility, built on 9200sqm, comprises a showroom for both new and pre-owned Porsche.
Venter said Porsche Centre Cape Town was being built according to the same worldwide corporate standards as the flagship facility in Johannesburg, which in fact is the largest Porsche Centre in the world, and the recently opened Porsche Centre in Umhlanga.
Construction of the Centre is due for completion by the end of 2010.
