HOSPITALITY: Pepper Club Opens Its Doors For 2010

Recent Western Cape Business News

Pepper Club - a R400 million luxury hotel residence and spa located in Cape Town’s city centre - has officially opened. The 20 storey hotel, which will cater for discerning business and leisure travellers, is set to address the growing need for a luxury hotel in the heart of the city.

David Solomon, Director of Solomon Brothers Property Holdings and developer of Pepper Club, says that the decision by a number of prominent international hotel brands to develop their first or next African properties in Cape Town is an endorsement of their development decision. “With over 8 million tourists visiting the Western Cape annually, the city’s global tourism appeal is ever-increasing.

A significant portion of this tourist sample will visit during the 2010 World Cup, which is scheduled to kick-off on 11 June 2010. “Pepper Club is already 90% booked for the four-week tournament and is an excellent opportunity to highlight the city and its hospitality industry. We are confident that the event will also position Cape Town prominently in the minds of leisure travellers who may not have considered the region before.”

Solomon says that Cape Town is also increasingly being chosen as a business destination due to its beautiful surroundings and top quality facilities. “The success of the high volume of events and conferences held in Cape Town each year has highlighted the region as a perfect hub for business travel in Africa.”

Pepper Club consists of 210 residences - including the largest presidential suite in Cape Town at over 750 m², boasting four bedrooms, a sundeck and private pool. The hotel also features a top quality restaurant, an intimate private cinema, a swimming pool with panoramic views, a fully-equipped gymnasium, a luxurious spa, 24-hour concierge service and security.

Pepper Club sports a fleet of luxury courtesy vehicles - that includes a Rolls Royce Phantom - for chauffeuring guests to and from the airport and business meetings, as well as on sight-seeing trips.
