PETROCHEMICALS: ColVic Stronger In W Cape
Recent Western Cape Business News
THE growing demand for at-site fuel and chemical storage and environmental protection systems has promoted ColVic to introduce its complete range of systems at its Cape Town operation.
ColVic marketing director Mike Welman says the company will stock all its products, backed by its engineering and design support, through its branch located near the airport. The company has established itself as a leading provider of fuel storage and containment products and services, resulting from more stringent requirements for environmental protection and control of fuel stocks.
“We have over the past decade and more developed a product offering that stretches from underground and above ground storage tanks, to underground fluorinated piping, contain-ment sumps and tank gauging equipment,” Welman says.
“These can be provided on a full turnkey basis, or in customised packages, depending on the user requirement, and are backed by a full design, engineering and project management service as well as complete systems training for consulting engineers and contractors.”
Greater demand for these products and services in the Western Cape, from traditional markets as well as elements within the oil exploration and refining and chemicals industries, has prompted ColVic to expand its operation. “The Western Cape, and Cape Town particular, has an extremely healthy oil industry and has always been a priority at ColVic. Our move to offer a higher level of product and service provision is in line with the growth in the industry,” says Welman.
“Our beefed up operation will bring higher levels of stock, faster turnaround and better service.”
The Cape Town operation will maintain a selection of fuel storage tanks manufactured by Tseba Tanks, pipe and fittings, containment systems, nozzles, hoses and pumps, and will also include technical and installation backup for FAFNIR tank gauging equipment.
