Recent Western Cape Business News
THE Gauteng-based Engine Applications, a power generating company, is the new kid on the block of the Western Cape’s power supply sector.
Engine Applications Western Cape has opened a new branch as supplier of standby power to industrial, commercial, residential as well as fleet operations. It is headed by Gerald Spaans, who has been involved in power generation for decades as MD of Spa Industrial in Benoni.
Engine Applications says it has an extensive product range that covers mobile and fixed diesel generators, static or rotary uninterruptible power supplies, switchboard and metering systems for generator sets, standby battery banks, diesel driven pump sets, and remote monitoring systems and building management systems.
The company has already supplied power generation products to major organisations such as Volvo Penta in Cape Town, the mining industry, Natalspruit Hospital in Brakpan, Mamelodi Hospital, Maxidor in Cape Town, Plascon in both Cape Town and Luipaardsvlei, and has exported its products to many African states including Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and the DRC.
