LEADING UK industrial generator manufacturer Broadcrown opened business in South Africa less than two years ago through an office in Cape Town. Broadcrown has recently supplied two 1000KVA generators to IMS Cape. IMS is a premium genset supplier and has installed these two machines to power the public lobby at Cape Town’s revamped airport.

The installation of the 1000KVA industrial generators - in accordance with Acsa’s refurbishing programme - was done by IMS, a subsidiary of the Zest Group.

Broadcrown’s generators will be among many installed at the expanded airport facility. It has made its mark in 38 years of operations in the UK as a global leader in the manufacture of quality standby diesel generators as well as bespoke solutions. It is one of very few companies worldwide able to offer a unit capable of switching between 50Hz and 60Hz - a real advantage within the marine industry.

These products are designed to meet specific customer requirements and are continuously tested to ensure that they meet the highest standards of excellence and durability. Broadcrown manufactures to ISO Standards (BS EN ISO 9001) along with IMS’s expertise as a installer / manufacturer of generating sets in South Africa ensures that the necessary value is added that ensures efficient operation and extended lifespan of the products.

IMS has facilitated some of the largest installations of standby diesel generating sets in country and has used certain Broadcrown gensets in their installation bouquet, thereby offering their clients a variety of options.

Broadcrown says it does constant research and development to ensure best product performance, the staff locally and abroad are competent to handle any complex design or solution that a client can call for. Broadcrown’s capacity to meet major challenges is as a result of its drive to operate pro-actively and to develop the client brief. The staff are well trained to identify potential problems in advance and Broadcrown’s focus on quality assurance has positioned it as global achiever of strict delivery deadlines and streamlined after-sales support.

Broadcrown has in the short space of time captured significant market share in the competitive standby power sector. The company has now opened up a sales office in Gauteng and aims to be a support centre to OEM’s in the region.
