Two of the Worlds foremost floating wonderlands will ordain our shores during World Cup 2010. They are called the MS Noordam and the MS Westerdam belonging to the Holland American Line and are marketed under the name ONE OCEAN CLUB. They will grace our shores from 9 June to 12 July 2010, berthing at the repair quay in the Port of Cape Town.
The MS Noordam boasts with 11 passenger decks, an Artrium, Lido Pool, a Greenhouse Hydro Pool, Thermal suites and a number of Restaurants and more on board. At 82,500 GRT this lady is not average, a length of 950 feet and a beam of 106 feet adds to her splendour.. With the maximum speed of 24 knots she can waltz from destination to destination whilst hosting her 1918 capacity passengers in ultimate luxury.
The MS Westerdam a twin ship in size of the MS Noordam also boasts with 11 passenger decks equipped with restaurants, a sports bar, 10 other bars, a number of lounges, Spa, Lido Pool, Library, Fitness Centre, a casino and more.
These magnificent ships, in Holland America Line's series of Vista-class vessels, embrace the latest industry and environmental technologies such as use of a diesel-electric power plant for optimal energy efficiency and an Azipod propulsion system. Most of their staterooms have ocean views and many have private verandahs
Visiting guests to Cape Town will also be given the opportunity to do special day tours over and above the Soccer matches during their stay.
Guests will be transferred by busses, shuttle services and water taxis whilst in the Port. Special land arrangements are planned during the visit to make access and egress as speedily as possible.
