ENGINEERING: Spreading the Word on Combustion
Recent Western Cape Business News
COMBUSTION Technology, the Cape Town-based engineering company, has experienced a very busy year so far as companies have realized that they need to improve their efficiencies, says Grant Renecle, MD of the company.
The company, which has been around for over 20 years, is the exclusive distributor in South Africa of Riello Burners, Garioni Boilers and Autoflame Management Systems and is at the forefront of the drive for better fuel economy and emissions reductions.
“We have had some major projects this year, including Novofeeds, Lutzville Vineyards and our biggest project to date – the Johannesburg General Hospital Boiler House upgrade.”
“Novofeeds in George recently converted a boiler to the Autoflame Combustion Management System.”
“Immediate indications are that they are saving 50% on their fuel bill per week. This is astounding and amounts to substantial savings for the company,” says Renecle.
Combustion Technology also began hosting seminars on how to reduce fuel costs and optimizing boilers in 2006.
The sessions are practical and interactive and have become a regular feature on the company’s calendar in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. Renecle, who has almost 30 years of experience in the burner and boiler industry, presents the seminars.
Chris Rademeyer from Afrox comments “I am amazed with the advanced technology in the burner/heat control field.”
“We are already working with Combustion Technology but it was good to see and learn about the burners and boilers and see what the company is all about,” says Francois van Eeden of Clover.
